Miniature Scottish Longsword: A replica piece, at one-fifth the size
With an 8" steel blade and wooden grip, the hilt components are made in sterling silver.. Constructed using the appropriate sword-making techniques, I have adapted the design to allow for the inclusion of cabochon stone settings, on either side of the pommel. The blade of this miniature sword is made of mild steel, with blunt edges. This special piece comes within a handmade wooden box, lined with leather, and a stand for upright display. Each sword can also be hung within its wooden box, and placed on the wall, giving the effect of a framed piece of artwork.
I have recently completed a batch of seven miniature Scottish Longswords, all of which are unique in their own way. These can be used as letter openers, wall hangers, or decoration for your desk or mantlepiece. The miniature Scottish Longsword makes a fine gift, with the potential to pass it down the generations, as a family heirloom. A fine example of this specific style of sword can be seen in the film, 'The Outlaw King,' which is about the fate of Robert the Bruce in 14th century Scotland. |
