These Ammolite Pendants have a lovely gleam to them, with brilliant highlights. Each piece is encased within a polished sterling silver setting, and are supplied from Southern Alberta.
Ammolite is known by the Blackfoot as Iniskim, or 'Buffalo Stone.' It is said to have powerful healing and amuletic powers, and is a great honour to receive when gifted. Ammolite occurs in an astonishing array of colours. This rare, semi-precious stone earned it's official status as the Provincial Gemstone of Alberta, in 2004. Ammolite comes from the fossil shells of ammonites, which were squid-like creatures that thrived in tropical seas, until becoming extinct along with the dinosaurs. Ammolite is sensitive to water, and should be handled with care.
Sea Sediment Collection:
These Pendants contain a vibrant stone called sea sediment, set with sterling silver. Also known as 'Impression Jasper,' these Sea Sediment stones were once part of the ocean floor. Their capacity to take on colour through the dying process, allows for a variety of unique and naturally veined stones.
